IF, 18/9=2 & 9/9=1 then 2/1= 2 (centre number of 1st elipse) and
24/2=12 & 36/6=6 then 12/6=2 (2nd elipse) so…
Following the same pattern of thinking,
30/5=6 & 4/2 =2 leaving 6/2=3
By this reckoning the missing number in the fianl elipse would be a 3.
(Well, not necesarily THE answer but an answer nonetheless - are there others?)
The answer is 3…
top left divided by top right times bottom left divided by bottom right.
The anwser is 3. I got the pattern in about 8 seconds.

A/B=X
D/C=Y
X/Y=E
So in the first example, 18/9=2, 9/9=1, and 2/1=2.
For the last one, 30/5=6, 4/2=2, and 6/2=3. So the answer is 3.

it may be much more simple than what i’m thinking…
“3″ because the multiplier between the top two numbers divided by the multiplier between the bottom two numbers.
e.g.
18 & 9 -> 2
9 & 9 -> 1
2/1 = 2
e.g.2
24 & 2 -> 12
36 & 6 -> 6
12/6 = 2
e.g.3
30 & 5 -> 6
2 & 4 -> 2
6/2=3

Answer is 3.
Method: Division of te numbers on the both sides of the elipse, both bottom and down and then divide the top answer by the bottom answer.
Example. in the first elipse, divide 18 by 9(which are present in either sides of the first elipse at the top) , which is 2. The next step, divide 9 by 9 (which is present in either sides of the first elipse at the bottom), which is 1. Now divide 2 by 1, which equals 2. Same is followed. for the last elipse you will get 3!
i am going to say three…..i took the top and bottom of each side of the shape, and multiplied them together, then divided the two numbers by each other, to get 2, so 30*2 divided by 5*4, would be 60/20, or 3

after some analysis…I think!!
for the first ellipse: (18/9)/(9/9)=2
for the second ellipse: (24/2)/(36/6)=2
for the third ellipse: (30/5)/(4/2)=3
so the answer is= 3

Divide diagonals and them multiplate them? I’m not so sure… but it works:
(18/9)x(9/9)=2
(24/35)x(6/2)=2
(30/4)x(2/5)=3
So the answer should be 3
1) (18/9) / (9/9) = 2
2) (24/36) / (2/6) = 2
3) (30/4) / (5/2) = 3
The answer is: 3
