Brain Decline updates

July 31st, 2008

Are you a heavy thinker? If so, here’s an interesting little tidbit: According to recent data presented at the International Conference on Alzheimer’s Disease-those men who ruminate most heavily on work and family difficulties had a dementia prevalence that was 40% less than in men who were least likely to ruminate.

From the same conference: Those who do not marry or live with a partner are at double the risk for developing cognitive impairment. Divorced singles who remained alone had a threefold increase risk.

SpinIn

July 25th, 2008

Spinin is a new puzzle game I think many of you will enjoy. The controls are a bit different from what you normally see in a sliding block challenge: press the arrow keys to tilt the board, and the Smiley block moves according to gravity.

What level can you advance to?

Where is the Schoolboy?

July 23rd, 2008

It’s been 6 months since the last antique French hidden object puzzle card went up, so figured it’s time to bring another one out. Some of you may remember the Three Rabbits , or the Pain De Sucre (yes, I can hear the groans already :)

but the thing to keep in mind is that these very old puzzle cards probably inspired the slew of hidden object games that have come out in the last couple years. However, since each card is a piece of art unto itself, and since the puzzle is usually cleverly worked in (usually with a few decoys too), I actually like them more.

So- Where is the Schoolboy?

Received this in the mail not too long ago: Every day a man arrives at Central Station and a car is waiting to give him a ride to his office. One day, however, the man arrives 1 hour early, so he starts walking toward the office. At some point on his way, the car picks him up, and he arrives 20 minutes early to the office.

How much time did the man spend walking?
