probably a lot of midgets haha

Nearest guess I can make, is that the “victim” is a very limber contortionist, who, just prior to the “accident” pulls his knees up to his chest. Perhaps the pants are supported such that they can stand on their own (and maybe even support his weight), while still allowing his legs to slide in and fill them during the segment where they’re reconstructing him.

There is clearly an edit in the video, as the original table that the legs were standing beside is gone without explanation, or time for it to be moved just prior to the segment where the victim is put back together. No idea if this missing footage would give some further clue, or if it was just edited for time constraints.

I say it’s a complicated use of mirrors, but I have no idea.

Now that is amazing! I watched some of the TV show but most was horrible. That was damn cool though! No idea how they did it.

The legs are prosthetics and the guy was born without legs.

Criss Angel does an illusion like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1ygYeKpnbA

He works with a woman who has no legs.
The legs are prosthetics. It’s a very effective illusion.

    WOW! Nice Trick

    Id say midgets tbh.

Yea, as BobE says, this is an illusion Criss Angel did, where the top half is done by a person who has no legs due to a medical condition and the legs are operated by either a midget or a short person, and the body is held together by clasps. Along with seeing how the man with the chainsaw supplies plenty of support while the sawed in half person gets up. you can also notice how when the legs shake at the end, it looks slightly unnatural and that’s because their being controlled by someone other than the top half of the body. Not exactly a trick people at home can do, but still really cool.

if the guy had no legs, then he couldnt jump…

The scene is not cut, you can see a “nurse” coming over to the trolley just before they flash to the judges. She takes it away then.

It could be entirely possible that the assistant that gets his legs cut off, does not have legs in real life. That was the first thought that crossed my mind. It could be possible that the man has suffered a real accident and really has lost his legs and we are simply being fooled by some sort of robotics. However, I must say that I like the idea of not knowing how they did it, so hopefully I am wrong, and kudos to the people who keep us all amazed

    upper body = amputee
    lower body = midget

  16. Salmon | Guest

Personally i believe there are two people in the suit, one for the legs and one is the body, this is how both the legs and the arms and body can move independently after the victim has been sawed in two, this is one on top with his legs tucked into his shirt and one at the bottom and this is why the body is cut so high up, and why the full body never walks around

  17. blizah | Guest

The bottom person is a contortionist bent over

  18. cunfuzzled | Guest

If the upper is an amputee, or a person born without legs, shouldnt the torso have been cut lower, not higher. in the act the cut is about mid stomach. clearly leaving out the lower regions….amputee’s need to go to the bathroom too…

and if the body never walked around, how’d they initially get him on stage? Just because he didnt walk in the clip doesnt mean he hovered to center stage.

    Twins.

Notice that the table top is very thick. Twin-1 bends over and hides his upper body in the table top.

Twin-2 has no legs and is stacked on top of Twin-1’s hips. The chainsaw guy cuts them in two and T2 does some handstand stuff to prove he has no legs.

During the part that was edited out, the magician and his assistants do some misdirection hocus pocus and block the audience’s view with their bodies and props. This allows them to move T2 off stage and gets T1 onto the little table.

T1 gets up and dances to prove he has been reassembled.

Right after the guy gets cut in half with the chainsaw, you see the nurse run off stage, then, after they lift him off the table, you see a different nurse come out the back of the box, conclusion, two nurses, one was in the box from the start, pulling strings on the legs, when they put him back together, they reattached the strings. Simple.

The upper half is a person with no legs.

The “legs”, is another person, hiding his body inside the table.
