Depression shrinks your memory engine

A study done by Dr. Yvette Sheline of the Washington University School of Medicine found that depression actually shrinks the hippocampus- a crucial part of the brain.

Why is your hippocampus important? It serves as the main memory engine of your brain.

On average, the study showed the hippocampus to be 10% smaller in people who were depressed.
