If your ability to concentrate and pay attention is bad enough to the point you’ve been told you have ADHD, the results from this new study may offer you some hope of brain enhancement without amphetamines.
The 2006 article from the journal Prostaglandins, Leukotrienes, and Essential Fatty Acids found that:
- Inattention
- Restlessness and
- Learning problems
all improved in those whose diets were supplemented with flax seed oil along with 25 mg Vitamin C two times a day for 3 months.
Why would flax seed oil be beneficial?
To make a very long story short, the brain needs a constant supply of fat to work properly (60-70% of your brain is fat). Not all fats are created equal. Some fats are good for you, some are bad. The vast majority of us are not getting the right kinds of fats. It turns out that flax seed oil is rich in the ‘good’ kinds of fats: Omega- 3 fatty acids.
The fat found in many kinds of fish is also high in Omega 3 fatty acids. Thus certain kinds of fish can also help with brain enhancement.
