TREE + LOAD – REEL = TOAD
BOA + BEER – BEE = BOAR
Although, I’m not sure I got them right. I’m pretty sure one of them is right. The insect comment threw me for a loop.
tree + load – reel = toad
boa + beer – bee = boar

The first solution doesn’t agree with the line “One insect and … ,” though.
