In the process I thought up a whole mess of other “cate” words: predicate, dedicate, locate, abdicate, explicate, authenticate, intricate, syndicate, eradicate,…

I also liked this puzzle because it made me think of the Ben Folds Five song “Kate.”

According to MerriamWebster.com there are 279 “cate” words. Many of these are obscure and only found in the pay per service unabridged dictionary. Several are just word forms of the same root word. Several are varying chemical forms of silicates. There are many “copy” words: replicate, duplicate, triplicate, quadruplicate, quintuplicate, etc.

Upon my search I found to have an influence for evil to be: imprecate seems best, but close terms could be fabricate, implicate, deprecate, desiccate, intoxicate, eradicate, fornicate, .

    Mental and physical powers: coeducate,
