Rough Water: Distortion Picture Puzzle

Over the past 2 years, several distortion photo puzzles (Stretch, Equation)  have gone up. In all of these, a photoshop expert cloaked the image with various effects. For this puzzle, however, the original object has been naturally distorted. Can you figure out what it is? View the picture now

Answers can of submitted in the comment section below. To not spoil the fun, they remain masked for a day or two, thanks.

    It’s a crab out on a beach, you can see some pincers and legs in there. The heat coming off the sand made that wavy look that you usually see coming off fires.

    Well, I hope you don’t want the type, too. But it’s definitely a crab. I’m not too hot on the genus or familial aspects, so I’ll hazard a guess at Hermit Crab, but it’s definitely a crab…
