Nanoparticles in sunscreen bad for brain?

I find it interesting that the practical application of nanotechnology has so quickly filtered down to everyday objects such as sunscreen and toothpaste.

A recent study carried out by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), however, sounds a note of caution- as it appears that the nanoparticles used in certain sunscreens can actually damage brain cells.

The study, published on the nature.com website, looked at Titania nanoparticles, and showed they can damage cultures of mice microglia brain cells.

Despite the fact that tens of millions of people are already using these products now, it’ll unfortunately be many years before we fully know what these nanoparticles do to live brain cells.
