this tangran is very cool, I am improving in this kind of puzzles, practice makes the master, something cool about this puzzle is the placement of the triangles, very clever, cool.

Is this an intentional homage to Dr. Quandary? It had the same type of game with a nearly identical candle as the shape.
Hey there BillyPilgrim, the lamp tangram has been around for a very long time- even before Dr. Quandary (never played but looks neat!)
I played an entire set of cards that had tangram shapes and the plastic pieces to do it by hand. It is very addictive and sometimes the obvious is not so obvious. Other times it seems the pieces just fall into place.
Funny thing is last Friday for a Valentine’s Day celebration my 5th grader’s class played are you smarter than a 5th Grader. One of the questions the adults got while playing against the kids was, “how many pieces are in a Tangram”. Well, having not played it for many years, I had no clue. I guessed 12 or 16. All of the adults there didn’t even know what a Tangram was. It would be too easy to look at the game and count now, but before you look…guess how many pieces!
Once you figure out how many pieces, play Tangram to make a shape like the number!
