SubscribeMy kids and I were enjoying a summertime snack on the patio earlier today, and this little thing was found on the table-along with many others! Nothing was added, doctored, or retouched.

How about a frog?

its the mandible of a wasp/bee.

maybe its a fungus in a cake or in a slice of bread

A mushroom perhaps…

looks like a Watermelon seed to me.
Some very good guesses, and detmom and MattHogan got it. The photo was a closeup of an OrangeGlo Watermelon seed, the fruit of which is one of the most delicious things you’ll ever come across. Very different from a regular watermelon…and the bright orange flesh really does glow orange.

Hmmmm…..Just a thought….the “believe it or not” and the “mean little critter” were kind of misleading in my opinion.
mfeex-thanks for the feedback. I agree, will remove ‘believe it or not’. ‘ Mean little critter’ initially didn’t have a question mark at the end of it, but shortly after posting went back and put that in….maybe it needs to be removed altogether…
