   I will refer to the rings as Rings 1-5, with the outermost ring being 1, the innermost being 5.

   Do not rotate Ring 1 (this defines an arbitrary orientation).
   Rotate Ring 2 180 degrees, or 2 positions in either direction.
   Rotate Ring 3 90 degrees/1 position clockwise.
   Do not rotate Ring 4.
   Rotate Ring 5 90 degrees/1 position clockwise.

   Starting from the top and moving counterclockwise, the words will read:

   CRASH
   THIRD
   ALONE
   SCENT

   There may be more than one solution to this puzzle, but at least this solution is valid.

    I think the words are: alone, crash, third, scent
    if 1 is the outer ring and 5 is the inner ring then:
    1–> dont rotate
    2–> 180 degrees
    3–> 90 degrees
    4–> dont rotate
