As mentioned in an earlier post, one of the most important aspects to keeping an aging mind sharp is to keep the blood vessels that feed the brain open.
Recent studies show that tomatoes are high in a special phytochemical called lycopene, a powerful anti-oxidant. This special ingredient is thought to reduce the risk of developing clogged arteries, thus making it a good potential brain food.
However, it appears tomatoes must be cooked, preferably in some form of oil, to become available to our bodies.
